The Gunnedah Baptist Community Preschool is a faith-based centre which strives to provide an environment where your child will learn and explore in a safe, challenging and fun place. We strive to develop a ‘Love of God and Learning’ that will carry with your child throughout their life.
The Skills Development Program is conducted in the Rainbow Room everyday. Here we assist children on a one to one or small group basis to help them develop any skills that may need that little bit extra. We liaise closely with the child’s family and specialists to plan for the best possible outcome. Games and fun are the basis of these programs. The children love the Rainbow Room.
In the Yellow room we run a Preschool Introduction Program for the younger children.
This program focuses on making friends, building confidence and self help skills. We offer a 2 day program for our little ones.
The School Readiness program is conducted each day in the Blue and Green Rooms. Here we focus on preparing children for Big School. We believe that your child will thrive if they feel confident and familiar with school routines. We offer a 3 days programs here.
It is recommend that parents enrol their child early for the School Readiness Program for the following year.
This program supports children who may need one to one care. Our service welcomes children with a disability and values inclusiveness. The preschool may employ a Support Assistant if it is necessary to best support your child at preschool.
We value nature and caring for our world at preschool. We believe that the future of our children lies in being aware of our impact on nature and the environment. Our Program embeds these principals. This approach is reflected in many ways, including our use of reclaimed materials for art projects, our vegie patch and chickens.
We place a great importance on connecting our families with the local community.
We offer regular excursions, family BBQ's, shows, networking and other community services
In November 2013 and 2018 the Preschool received an accreditation rating of “Exceeding National Quality Standard.”We do not regard ourselves as child carers, but educators.
Our preschool invites your child to “come, play and learn”. We recognise that each child is an individual with special abilities interests and background. We have a large newly modified accessible outdoor area providing a safe, fun filled environment for children of all abilities. The 16 well trained staff take pride in their profession and believe that caring for your child is a privilege. We provide a space where the emphasis is on learning through play, but also structured learning.
